Potential Delays out of Shanghai and Ningbo

As a domino effect to the lockdowns in China, this week we are seeing a lot more disruption.   We want to update you for what may be significant delays in obtaining transport arrangements into and out of the ports.  The reporting we have been validating is that many employees are staying at their factories or at the port to continue to maintain production and operations in hopes of avoiding exposure.  Other mitigations are also in place.   However, production and port operations are weakening.

Trucking requirements to navigate around the shutdowns to pick up or drop off containers are growing in complexity.   Further, the testing of truckers to keep the port working and free of Covid are causing significant strain.  Previously a valid negative Covid test to enter the port was 48 hours, it is now 24.   While the ports continue to be ‘open’, it is the in and out of the ports of Ningbo and Shanghai which continue to present challenges.

Our team will be keeping you informed of the status of your specific shipments.  Please call us at any time with questions.
