India – Additional Tariff
An Executive Order has been issued which will levy an additional 25% under IEEPA (International Economic Emergency Powers Act) for India. This will be in effect on 8/27/2025. This puts the India tariff at 50% + the Column 1 rates in effect for the HTS#. There are a few exceptions for the Reciprocal tariffs, and these follow the same list of exceptions, we regularly point these out on our Tariff Tuesday Webinars.
These tariffs have an exemption for on the water on a final conveyance prior to the effective date; however, they also have a requirement for entry filing by September 17th. Cargo loading on a vessel on say 8/26/2025, may not in fact, arrive and be ready for entry by that date.
Goods subject to tariff actions under 232 (Steel, Aluminum, Copper, Auto Parts) will not be subject to these Reciprocal Tariffs.
